Definitely, 2026 has brought many releases in Design + AI, and Anthropic is not falling behind. The company announced the launch of Claude Design, a new experimental tool within Anthropic Labs that allows for conversational collaboration with Claude to create visual works. The platform is powered by Claude Opus 4.7 and is currently available as a research version for Claude Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise users.

Claude Design aims to solve one of the biggest challenges in the creative process: the lack of time to explore multiple ideas. Even the most experienced designers often limit themselves to just a few options due to delivery times. With this new tool, it's possible to quickly generate different design directions, refine them, and turn them into shareable deliverables.

The proposal is also designed for people without design training, such as founders, product managers, or marketing teams. Starting from a simple description, Claude generates a first version of a design, prototype, presentation, one-pager, or visual piece. The user can then iterate through conversation, inline comments, direct edits, or custom controls.

Among the main uses Anthropic highlights are:

Interactive prototypes from static mockups.
– Wireframes and product flows for new features.
– Design explorations with multiple visual directions.
– Presentations and pitch decks ready to export to PPTX or send to Canva.
Marketing materials, such as landing pages, social media assets, and campaigns.
Advanced prototypes with voice, video, 3D, shaders, and integrated artificial intelligence.

Brand-aligned design

One of the most interesting aspects of Claude Design is that it can automatically create a design system for each team. During initial setup, Claude analyzes a company's code and design files to identify colors, typography, and components. From then on, all projects maintain visual consistency with the brand. Additionally, the system can evolve over time and support multiple design systems within the same organization.

Import from multiple sources

Claude Design allows you to start a project from various sources:

– A text prompt.
– Images or documents such as DOCX, PPTX, and XLSX.
– The code of an existing product.
– Elements captured directly from a web page.

This allows for the creation of prototypes much closer to the actual product and significantly speeds up the design process.

Real-time editing and refinement

The tool offers very precise adjustment controls. Users can comment on specific elements, edit text directly, or modify variables like spacing, color, and layout using visual controls.

Then, Claude can automatically apply those changes to the rest of the design, which reduces repetitive work and speeds up iterations.

Claude Design represents an important step towards a workflow where artificial intelligence does not replace the designer, but rather expands their ability to explore, iterate, and communicate ideas with greater speed.
